NUR 0400 - ADULT MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSING Minimum Credits: 8 Maximum Credits: 8 This course builds on the knowledge and skills from the fundamentals of nursing practice course. This course provides students with opportunities to integrate theories, concepts and skills in delivering care to hospitalized adult clients in a variety of acute care facilities. Students gain knowledge of complex physiological and psychosocial stressors and adaptations related to health alterations of a medical-surgical nature. Alterations in cardiovascular, respiratory, reticuloendothelial, hepatic, immune system, nervous/sensory, musculo-skeletal, reproductive and gastrointestinal systems will be discussed.
